Terno MCP server
Connect Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, VS Code, or your own agent to your Terno data through the hosted MCP server.
The Terno MCP server lets AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, and your own agents query the data sources you’ve connected in Terno, through Terno’s secure query layer.
Server URL: https://mcp.terno.ai/mcp
Preview server URL: https://mcp.terno.ai/mcp/preview (adds app connectors such as Google Ads and GA4)
Before you start
Section titled “Before you start”- A Terno AI account. You don’t need to sign up first: when you connect, Terno takes you to sign up if you don’t have an account, or to sign in if you’re signed out, and then shows the consent screen.
- No data source is needed to connect. Ask your assistant to connect one and Terno gives it a link where you add the connection details in Terno. You can also add one in the app; see Connectors.
Choose your assistant
Section titled “Choose your assistant”Which data sources work over MCP
Section titled “Which data sources work over MCP”Databases and warehouses connected in Terno: PostgreSQL, MySQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, Databricks, and Oracle.
Security
Section titled “Security”- Read-only SQL. SQLShield checks every SQL query, and only
SELECTstatements are allowed. - No credentials shared with the AI. You enter connection details in Terno over an authenticated session. The assistant only receives a link to that page.
- Disconnect any time. Remove the Terno connector in your AI app.
On the preview server, some app connectors such as Google Ads can also take actions. Actions need a workspace admin and an account with write access, and you can preview them with a dry run first. See Google Ads actions.
